New Semester Begins
Last semester was a blast. It slowly swooshed away. I went back to the memory lane remembering what was it the first time I stepped UP Diliman. It was overwhelming. The urge of excitement filled my cold body then. It was thrilling to see co-freshies there, some familiar faces from my place and some things that are true blue tatak UP.
I first walked in UP with no knowledge about it, just that I'll go here in college. I'll conquer UP, I'll pass, I'll graduate here. Now, it seems like its natural and common. There's nothing new to it. Being here for four months, well, it's kinda boring. Freaky thing is I survived.
Well, last semester was just fun, in Kalay, in my organization, UPDOSTSA. I learned a lot, not only in my subjects but all the things that composes life. The things that can't be learned inside the rooms here in UP are just plain justifications of its diversity and cultural difference.
UP is often said as the microcosm of the country, it is true, the mix of ideas (not only ideas but great ideas) and the synergy of culture, and beliefs. I only have half a year to be a freshie. Only half a year to prove myself I can go further. Only one semester to get higher grades. Only one semester to patch things up with people I have hurt, or have hurt me. This is just the beginning. But why is the beginning the most critical point of this college life?
Might I just say because the possibilities in the ending starts from small beginnings. The starting point reflects how you have endured your life. It's like a race track. If you see yourself far away from the start, then you're doing well. If you see yourself still near what was you at that point, you're not improving. In the race track, we tend to get out of our lanes and leagues. We might have done some mistakes but what's important is that we're moving on.
Life is cruel. Life is fun. It just depends on how we see life actually. It's all about how you perceive life. Be positive. Live life. After all, no one has come out of it alive.
